I am so embarassed! My mom sent Pictures of Katrina. I thought she had directly taken them from a news site. It said they were of northern AL while Katrina was rolling in. I was thinking it looked like cornfields in OK or northern TX. It didn’t look anything like the Alabama I know, and it looked nothing like a hurricane, it was tornados, I assumed her info was correct and that they were tornados brought about by Katrina. I forwarded it to a select few people, because they were beautiful pictures, only to have a friend email me and say they aren’t of Katrina but tornado ally where she is from in OK and she received them a few months ago! I was so embarrassed! I immediately emailed everyone and told them of the mistake!
It isn’t fun to remove egg from one’s face.
I do the same thing, I think it works. I am very polite about it though. saying Hey everyone, I just thought you might find this interesting!I had one friend that did this a lot. Every time it happened I checked the story at Snopes.com. If they had debunked it, which they usually had a year or more earlier, I sent their reference back
I don’t get many any more.
