I would hope this thread would not be construed that way. The real concern I have always had is that the potential convert that becomes interested in the traditional Latin Mass will stumble upon this Fisheaters web site and be appalled at the apparent lack of charity, antisemitism, and the like.
We lose potential converts that might otherwise be interested in the Church and its traditions. Worse yet, this web site is pretty easily found online if one starts researching “traditional Catholicism”.
The web site has no formal affiliation with the Church. A convert might think that the views espoused on Fisheaters are commonly held among traditional Catholics. In reality, the Forum Moderator is really positioning the content of the web site and its forums based on her own rigid personal belief system, and silencing anyone that doesn’t agree with that belief system.
There is, unfortunately, a small minority of rather vocal traditional Catholics that espouse these extremist views quite publicly. It’s an embarrassment to what is otherwise a noble, admirable cause. If they focused instead on actually promoting traditional Catholicism, and dropped the virulent hate speech, they would have better results in attracting adherents.
