It’s a drizzly, cloudy day in New York City on this Independence Day. But the fireworks display is still scheduled for the evening.

Is anyone staying indoors and watching The Twilight Zone marathon on the SyFy channel? I’ve seen all the episodes so many times that I plan on watching only a few choice favorites, such as A Stop at Willoughby. Which is your favorite?

No, I won’t be watching it. I’ve seen most of them too often.

This thread reminds me, there’s likely a good number of folks now who would like to wish certain politicians and judges into the cornfield!
(from episode 73, Its a Good Life)

Its a gray day here on the west coast of Los Angeles - a continuation of what we call June Gloom. I hope you enjoy the 4th of July!

It’s a Good Life is another favorite of mine. Billy Mumy appeared in a few episodes of the show. Yes, I can appreciate the TZ overdose experience. An enjoyable 4th to you and yours as well.

Thanks for reminding me; I’m turning it on right now! I hope I haven’t missed, “To Serve Man”! 🍿

This is why I sometimes wish we had tv reception here. I’ve seen all the episodes our library has on dvd. To Serve Man is not one of them - it’s a classic.

Wish I could say it’s cool outside; it is now monsoon season with an amazing kind of humidity it the air that seems foreign to the desert. We could get a major storm at any time. When that happens, watch out. Roofs are sometimes torn off buildings; trees are toppled; and thunder makes my dog cower in a corner.

I never got to see all the TZ episodes, but I did see a few. I don’t have the SciFi on my cable, but I remember one episode where it ends with the devil appearing…I’m not certain what that was about.

Ever see Ivan Albright’s paintings? Some are in the Art Institute. He painted such weird things. Straight out of Twilight Zone.

we don’t have cable or satellite right now so I can’t watch the marathon-otherwise I would. I have several favorites. have fun!

I always liked the episode with Andy Devine, who gets abducted by aliens until he plays his harmonica and it’s like a death-ray to them, so they shoo him out the door.

Just to fill in others about the plot: Andy Devine is a teller of tall tales, while the aliens who abduct him think he must really be an all-around genius based on their surveillance of his supposed multitude of activities, academic degrees, and adventurous stories he has talked about on earth. That is because these aliens have no concept of lying. As you note, he escapes by playing his harmonica, and then proceeds to tell about his experience with the aliens. Of course, everyone thinks he is just telling yet another tall tale.

Thanks for the photos.

Really wish I could, but can’t.

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder
And a title that doesn’t come to mind now; with Elizabeth Montgomery and Charles Bronson.
Do I even have the latter correct?! It’s been a while…

And the sun just appeared!

**Won’t be able to watch today, but some of my favorites are:

“Time Enough”. Henry Beemis just wants to be left alone to read…
“The Howling Man”. How the devil deceives us…
“The Hunt”. How the devil deceives us yet again…

Happy 4th of July Meltzerboy !

P.S. Cheezey, I think the episode you mentioned with
Charles Bronson is called “Two”.**

That’s terrible! Are you planning on getting cable soon? The cost here in New York is always rising.
I live with family and they got rid of both because of rising costs. we have antennae tv and all weekend my favorite channel has not come in. it had crime shows and movies. it has been a boring weekend.
two good bogart movies on later tonight though.

The cloudiness and drizzle disappeared here too. The TZ episode you mentioned is called “Two.” Another episode is called “Twenty-two” but that one is a different kettle of fish.

my favorites might be william shatner and the gremlin on the wing of the airplane and agnes moorehead and the alien that gets in her house.

The episode you’re referring to is probably “The Howling Man,” a really good one.

Great choices! I love “The Hunt” and so will all dog lovers. And a Happy 4th to you as well.

That’s a famous one. Also, the “other” William Shatner TZ episode, “Nick of Time,” is very good. I think Agnes Moorehead was often underrated as an actress.
