Is anyone who denies the trinity and/or christ's divinity inherently not Christian?

I voted no based on personal experience.

Believe it or not, if you aren’t raised with any religious background, but become Christian as a adult and just pick up the gospels and start reading them , it is not*** that*** apparent that Jesus is in fact, God in flesh.

Took me almost a year of studying the scriptures before I was 100% convinced of this. Even though it is there for us implicitly, it isn’t totally spelled out as well as we would like, imo. And I don’t like to take people’s word for it on matters like this, so outside opinions didn’t carry much weight to me.

I initially thought how can God be in human form and eating and pooping(sorry to be graphic)? Seemed ridiculous to me and I tried to rationalize it and thought maybe He was a angel or some other powerful entity, but not YHWH.

So anyway, I sympathize with anyone who struggled with this because if you aren’t programmed to believe complex matters like this at a young age, it isn’t that apparent later on in life. This is why the Church(singular) is so important. 1 Timothy 3:15 no pillar or foundation and the entire house comes crashing down.

Sorry, I meant to vote ‘yes’ but I accidentally voted ‘no’ and can’t seem to find any way to undo my vote.

Anyway, that God is a Trinity of three Divine Persons and that the Second Person, God from all eternity, took on human flesh in the person of Jesus Christ seem to me to be fundamental teachings of Christianity and Christology. That is why the death of a man, Jesus Christ, is able to make atonement to God for our sins and why, through faith in Him, our sins are washed away: because He is not only a man but a God-Man. The God-Man. Mormons believe Jesus was just a man while he walked this earth and have their own (false) teachings on how the death of a man is able to save other men. If you don’t believe these basic dogmas of the faith you worship a different god. The syncretistic Baha’is believe in the bible as a holy book and follow at least some of the teachings of Jesus, but they are not Christian, like the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons, although these last two groups are much closer. A secularist could do the same thing. If you haven’t been validly baptized into Christ’s death and resurrection, being remade a new man, a dwelling place for the blessed Trinity, and a member of Christ’s body, the Church, you are also not a Christian. How could you be?

“Baptism now saves you.”

Or, to put it even more simply, “Baptism saves.” If you’re not baptized, you are not saved and are still dead in your sins. But we commend your soul to our all-merciful God, who judges justly.

If you lived in the first four or five centuries of the early church, it wouldn’t be so clear. The powers that be fought and debated over the nature of the Trinity. I don’t think that even Nicea had it all sorted out; perhaps by the fifth century, the debates quieted down and we are left with a nice, neat mystery.

Anybody who calls themselves Christian and believes Jesus as their savior is a Christian. Regardless of what metaphysical concepts they have on him.

It’s all window dressing. Ask a Jehovah’s Witness about the teachings of Jesus and you will find that they are nearly identical to Catholic or mainstream Protestant teachings. The fact that they believe Jesus to be Michael incarnate is immaterial.

Believing that Jesus is Michael incarnate is not immaterial it a huge theological error that precludes JWs from being Christians and having valid baptisms.
