Hello! Our 17 year old daughter may think artificial insemination is ok. What does the Catholic Church teach regarding this?
I need to know asap. She was watching “The Solomon Brothers” and artificial insemination was an intregal part of the story line. I need to get Catholic Truth into her mind. Since inartificial insemination neither spouse gives themselves to each other therefore I deduce artificial insemination is wrong. Please clarify and advise. Thank you so much! Sincerely, Mrs. Repovz (repose)

Hi,

Since artificial insemination removes conception from its proper context, i.e., the couple’s physical expression of the vows made at the altar, the Church teaches that it is not an option for a Catholic. Context always matters.
