I cannot find anything on this, but I can’t find anything specific.

It might help if you’d give us specific examples of what you mean.

So, for example, I have an exmuslim friend, and we make fun of each other with the understanding it’s joke a big joke, and there is no intentional belittling whatsoever.

He was talking about his mother disciplining him by saying “I will punish when you do wrong and there will be no debate”, or something to such an extent.

And so I responded “Well, she wasn’t going to say that she doesn’t negotiate with terrorists”.

That would be an example of banter.

Mutually agreed upon joking is certainly not sinful. However, the “T” word can be offensive or polarizing. But, if he’s OK with it, then have fun, always respecting his human dignity.

I refer to DW as the “Domestic Terrorist” - a title which she relishes, actually.

Assuming your friend knows you’re joking, which it sounds like he does, of course not. Obviously just be socially aware enough to know who you can joke with and who you can’t.

I work with several Mexican guys. Doing this is an all day pastime during work. Razzing each other is something to do. It is a cultural thing as well. The funny thing about it is this: if they don’t do it to you, they probably don’t like you.
