It’s my understanding that Baptism by water, using the proper form, makes a person an adopted child of God and therefore gives him the right to heaven. Isn’t it true, then, that any non-Catholic who is baptized automatically has the chance to be saved? That’s why we can say non-Catholics have the chance to get to heaven? Sure, it’s harder for them, since they do not avail themselves of the sacraments, but as long as they are baptized don’t they have the possibility to enter heaven? “No salvation outside of the Catholic Church” doesn’t exclude baptized Protestant, because baptism automatically makes one a member of the One, True Church (the Catholic Church) even if the person is an avowed Lutheran, for example? One doesn’t have to be a practicing Catholic per se, to have a chance a salvation, but merely baptized?
