Hi, my understanding is that Jesus taught in John 3 that Baptism is absolutely necessary in order for one to enter heaven. If my understanding is correct, how then could He promise paradise to the good thief on the cross? I would have thought that even though the thief was repentant, he would still have needed baptism before he could inherit heaven? Thanks
