They usually have some big dramatic conversion story to tell. As a cradle, I have no big conversion story. God, Jesus, Mary etc were always just part of my life. For a long time I sinned, then gradually by the grace of God I stopped sinning, step by step. I’m not sure what big eloquence I can attach to that, nor do I think it’s any more necessary to make a big speech about it than if I made a big flowery speech about how much I loved my parents.To build on that statement, did you ever notice that Catholic convert writers tend to be more eloquent about the Catholic experience than cradle Catholics?
