Is being gay a sin?

Homosexual acts are sinful. Being a homosexual isn’t. How can making false claims against our fellow humans be helpful? Are you able to cite anything in support of your claims?
 
Having temptations towards members of the same sex (being gay) is not a sin. However, acting on those temptations is a grave sin.
 
It is not a sin to be gay, only to act on those gay impulses. Pope Francis just very recently gave an interview where he said exactly that.
