Is being poor a sin?

Is it a sin to be poor? i hear some people and they talk as if poverty is a sin. not everyone is rich so are those who are poor sinning? i know everyone sins but i am only talking of poverty. i saw no where in the bible where it says its a sin i am poor does that mean i am constantly sinning while being poor?

Hi,

Mary and Joseph were poor and could only offer a pair of turtle doves to offer at the temple. Jesus had nowhere to lay His head. Physical poverty cannot be a sin. It is a financial state and not an act. To sin is to act; it is an act that contradicts God’s will.
