Hey guys this is just a fun post…I would like to see you people’s opinion’s on this topic?..Please post reasonable opinions XDD…Enjoy :PP

Neither. All that matters is if one has truly discerned their vocation and is living that vocation to their best of their abilities.

No, no, and I’ll say it as long as I live, no.

I don’t know (nor really care) about anyone else but I’ve had my fill of personal loneliness thank you.

No. I’d rather die young than grow old alone. Hehe… but of course if God is calling me to be single all my life then so be it.

I married my best friend many years ago and feel blessed in my marriage. But since martial dynamics can vary so greatly between each individual couple’s marriage I would have to say it depends on the person who is the other half of the relationship. I would rather be single than be with someone who has anger problems, control problems, is abusive mentally and/or physically, etc.

According to St. Paul it is a resounding yes if you are strong enough

I don’t think anyone who’s never been married can actually answer this question. 🤷

I think you have a point. As a never married single person, I imagine that I’m better suited for marriage. However,I have adapted to being alone and have become very independent so could probably handle staying single. But that is not my desire.

And what could that person just possibly answer… 😛

Saint Paul was unequivocal and I think Our Lord was also, when He mentioned eunuchs for the sake of the Kingdom.

So I’d say it’s superior. On the other hand, it seems I’m after the inferior thing (being single currently).

You can be married and bored, or single and lonely. Ain’t no happiness nowhere.

I’d say sometimes, yes. Sometimes, no. There aren’t many absolutes in this life.

I married when I was 31. My wife was 21. We started dating with I was 29 (and, yes the math would indicate she was 19, but she turned 20 a few weeks after our first date).

I’d obviously dated other women, sometimes seriously, in the years prior. But with my wife, there was no doubt. We’ve been married now for 17 years and have literally endured sickness and health.

I can’t answer this question, as the married state is a vocation. A person doesn’t enter it because it’s better or worse than something else, but because of that. That’s not what I had in mind when I got married, and it’s certainly not how the world views it, but that’s how it is.

And, looking back, I can see the hand of God in our marriage. I wasn’t looking to get married when I met her (and I’d sort of known her for a few years prior). God was intervening in my life at the time. Now, I cannot imagine having not married my wife.

Good on you. 🙂 Thanks for the story! It’s quite uplifting.

To add just a bit to the story, we were engaged only three months after we started dating. Not something I’m recommending, but the truth. We were married, obviously, only a little over a year after we started dating. Both of us had dated other people at various times for longer than that, and I had pondered getting engaged before, to others I’d known longer, and then felt a distinct desire not to take that step.

Then, as now, the engaged are supposed to take a series of class. We went in and took a test, as you do, and were found to be the most highly compatible couple that had ever taken it. We went to one single marriage preparation class, and the couple that ran it (see them every week at Mass) reported back that there was really no point in us going to any others, as there was nothing that could be added to what we already knew and expressed. We were married during Lent as we chose a day close to St. Patrick’s Day, which is not the norm in our Parish, but the Irish born Priest never said anything about that.

Sometimes, if we look carefully, God chooses to play a highly direct role in our lives and failing to acknowledge that in those circumstances would be a real test of wills.

I am having a hard time in my marriage but I would still vote married over single. You just need to find the right person. Make sure it is the person God would pick for you and not who you want.

If my choice was between never being married or being married to my husband, I would still pick marriage. I have no problem with not having a husband but could not imagine a life without my children. I have 4 amazing children and would marry my husband all over again just to have them in my life.

If my choice was between being married or divorced from my husband, I would definitely pick divorced. I have remained married but emotionally it is killing me. I switch between anger, sadness and acceptance. The emotional rollercoaster is very hard to control.

Was Married for 22years now single for 8years. Marriage is way better

Children are wonderful. Married has that going for it, hands down. Marriage is not as lonely in many ways, but still, I think it is easier to cling to the Lord as your *one *goal as a single. In marriage, you have a very sure route to holiness, though, because, well, spouses can be annoying! 😃

Overall, I’d go with single, but I think I can only say that because I was never blessed with children of my own (I’m married).

But the best state for you is the one to which you are suited/called.
