We are not going to be judged by our religion or what we claim to believe; but rather on our acts of love toward God and our fellow man. Thus Christ said:
*
"If any man say, I love God, and hateth his brother; he is a liar. For he that loveth not his brother, whom he seeth, how can he love God, whom he seeth not?*
1John 4:20
There are many who believe in God and even acknowledge Jesus Christ as His Son; yet bear no good fruit. God calls on believers to bear good fruit, and not be like the fearful and lazy servant who Jesus spoke about in His parables. What’s more, the worst thing a person can be is a lukewarm Christian, as Jesus said:
“I would thou wert cold, or hot. But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, not hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth.” (Rev. 3:15)
Even the cowardly are rejected because they put themselves before God:
*“And being afraid I went and hid thy talent in the earth: behold here thou hast that which is thine. And his lord answering, said to him: Wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sow not, and gather where I have not strewed: Thou oughtest therefore to have committed my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received my own with usury. Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that hath ten talents. For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound: but from him that hath not, that also which he seemeth to have shall be taken away. [30] And the unprofitable servant cast ye out into the exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” *(Matthew 25: 25-30
But in the Parable of the Sower Jesus goes on to describe the different ways people will hear the Word of God and how some will accept it but end up not bearing fruit…
