Is Benedict XVI still the real Pope?

How do I defend Pope Francis to this person on Facebook who thinks Benedict XVI is still the real Pope? This person listens to many other sources that are against Pope Francis and does not want to listen to Catholic Answers’ apologists anymore. What should I do?

Suggest he might want to listen to Benedict XVI, who has stated himself that he freely resigned the office and therefore is no longer the Pope:

There isn’t the slightest doubt about the validity of my resignation from the Petrine ministry. . . . The only condition for the validity [of the resignation] is the complete freedom of my decision. Speculations about the invalidity of my resignation are simply absurd (source).
