Hi,

This is my first post, so im not too sure if its appropriate for here or whether it should be somewhere else.

Anyway, i was wondering if anyone knows what the Churches view on bioenergy is? Its the healing of a person by using the energy within them and realigning it and all this carry on. Personally i think it could be a bit dodgy but i was just wondering if the Church had said anything about it.
Any answer is appreciated!!
Thanks,

To my knowledge, the Church has said nothing specifically about this.

However, it is not good scientifically. The only “energy” in our bodies comes from the calories in our blood, and is liberated by the air we breathe. There is no way of “realigning” it, because this energy is produced in all the cells of our bodies; it is not something like a force-field.

God Bless and ICXC NIKA.

Haha, I thought you were speaking about bio-fuels such as Ethanol or bio-diesels derived from cooking oil!

As GEddie said, there is basically no scientific basis for this kind of healing.

IF such a practice could be proven scientifically, then it would simply be a part of the natural order created by God :D! But in the absence such proof, then practicing “healings” using bio-energy would be at best superstitious and distracting to the one true faith.

I thought some people might get confused by the title…

I know that there is no scientific basis for it, and believe me as a medical student im very skeptical about most types of alternative therapy but i have seen these videos where people swear by it

plexusbio-energy.com/tv_clips.htm
the third video in particular.

Its just that if there wasnt anything dodgy about it then it could be a possible road for me to explore in the medical profession but i have heard about “healing hands” where it was other forces other than God acting and people have felt that they were being strangled and all and i dont want to go down that road!!!

I watched the “Afternoon Show” clip and I must say, I am impressed by his level of quackery! He bundles “bio-energy” with positive thinking and relaxation techniques to produce “results”.

My background is in engineering, not medicine or biology, but my thinking is that if there are truly “energy fields” that can be manipulated by hand to diagnose or cure illness, then an engineer somewhere would have developed a machine that could reliably detect anomalies in these fields and be a multi-milionaire!
