If you’re buying them with the intent to USE them to thwart God’s plan for marriage then yes, it’s a sin. I’m not sure why you’d buy them if you didn’t intend to use them.

It’s a hard teaching with all of the pressures of the modern world. I suggest jumping in to the Church’s teaching on the subject. It was eye opening for me and now that I’ve educated myself I fully support this teaching.

no it is not wrong to buy them. it is wrong to use them for the purpose of avoiding conception, thereby perverting and misusing the marital act. it is not wrong to use them if prescribed for an off-label use, like regulating periods. prudence dictates a second medical opinion whenever a powerful phramaceutical with deadly side effects is prescribed.

It’s wrong to contracept.

So, you would have to state the purpose of buying these pills. If it is to contracept, yes of course it is wrong. If it is for another reason, then that reason would have to be evaluated against objective moral criteria.

One more thing: if you are purchasing them for someone else, and you know that person is using them for contraception, your sin is as great as theirs, because you are cooperating with and encouraging this sin.
