This is kinda silly.

Seriously, artifical BC is not 100%, even a vasectomy has a .002% failure rate, tube tying I think is like .04 failure. If God really wanted someone to exist, that little half person would wriggle its way through and find the egg.

Secondly, everyone who abstains can be argued as “preventing” a human being. Imagine, every month, a woman’s body is discarding an egg that if she had sex could become a human being. So, by not having sex she is committing a sin you class as murder?

Its asanine to say that a prevented human being will never know God. God knows all human beings who have, are and will exist. Artifical means won’t stop God. If a person is meant to exist, they will, no amount of sin of interferance from others will stop their existance. Someone could abort them or murder them post birth, but that doesn’t mean they were prevented from existing, they did, however, have their existanced haulted.

Heh, “sperm me” got through the Pill, a condom and some spermicide. Did God know I would exist? Yes. Did God want me to exist? Maybe, but I’m here now and He loves me. Did He force my existance? Most likely not. I am simply a product of two fornicating teenagers, statistical failure rates in artifical contraception, of course, it helped that my biological mother was pro-life and her parents pushed her into adopting me out.

Based on the answers that I got I can say that and agree that Birth Control is not Christian in anyway. Thank you all for the answers. But again another statement from my mom arose telling me this: “A woman has the right to choose if she wants to have the kid, abort it, or even take birth control. **God HATES **someone has too many kids and can’t maintain them.”

Any opinions on this? I know God loves everyone, and He gave us those gifts, but God hating when people over-reproduce? Is this some blasphemy?

God hates nobody.
God cannot hate creation.
God is the Author of life.
God is love.

It sounds like your mother swallowed all the propaganda from the past few decades -
and an awful lot more besides. I can’t say if your mother is blaspheming.

If I ever said such a thing about God, I know that it would be blasphemy.

What is that “awful lot more besides” that you are mentioning? My mom used to be Catholic but she left the faith and of course, became one of them Pentacostal sects about speaking in tongues and that and she tells me she’s OK with birth control and all those BC methods such as the pill, hormones, vasectomy, and…then mentioned about that God hates it when a couple brings like 10 or 20 kids to the world and can’t maintain them. I wanted to say something but I couldn’t find the correct words, she hates most Catholic teachings and I can’t just find the correct answer.

Here’s what I mean. Common to the last 40 years is this thinking,
(in your mother’s words):
*“A woman has the right to choose if she wants to have the kid,
abort it, or even take birth control.” *

UN-common to the extent that I've never even heard it 'til right now -
and clearly the "more besides" is this addition
(in your mother's words again):
*"God HATES someone has too many kids and can't maintain them."*

**I've never heard that** - although I've worked in the pro-life movement for 40+ yrs.
I kind'a thought I'd heard it all.  Clearly NOT.  
This speaking of "God hating" is new to me.

When I heard that, I just wanted to say BLASPHEMY because God does not hate. This is new to me and I just felt that I should point a finger at her and say “So therefore, you accuse God of hate, you are saying that He hates all of mankind for over populating the world. You accuse God that he is hateful towards everyone.” I just felt like saying this but I couldn’t say to her, she gets angry if I bring any sort of Catholic teaching because of all those Bible classes she took with the Pentecostals so many years ago…and now she says its OK because women have the RIGHT to chose if it lives or dies.

Of course it wouldn’t state that.

It states that some “Christians” caved in to the lie of contraception in the 1930s.
Prior to that ALL Christians acknowledged that contraception is wrong.

Yes. Forty years is reckoned as TWO generations of people -
so the last two generations, (ages of those under 20, and those who are 20 to 40 yrs old),
have “always” known ‘legal abortion.’

For those of us who are older (and/or much older),
we knew a different time and attitude and standard of truth.

I have to imagine that among pro-life Catholics, we who are older could and would admit
that the unchanging teachings of the Catholic Church have worked to keep us faithful to
the once-commonly-held belief of the sanctity of life.

To remove the lies from one’s head?
Maybe learning from those who never gave the lies a welcome in their heads is a start?.

First and foremost and always, though: pray for grace and wisdom!

The original poster asked a specific question if using contraception made one not a Christian. I thought made the link answered that question. We all know that the RCC is opposed to artificial contraception.

It is not Christian. Look at what it is called birth control. Birth control, which manifests itself in numbers of forms (pills, condoms, etc.) are not natural and they interfere in an unnatural way to control birth or to disrupt the means by which life is conceived. It becomes evil, evil being the lack of or privation of good, because it turns the sexual act ,something beautiful and sacred that God designed, into something man and woman attempt to control to have the act with no or little chance of consequence.
