When Bob refers to the prince of Ethopia, do you really think he is refering to the prince? maybe he just says it out of culture, rhyme, flow, but what is the real message he is trying to say?? Bob talks about living in the moment (the Bible also refers to this point), being happy, feeling free from Babylon, no more suffering, no more hate, more love… I dont think his intentions were evil. i never heard that it was father bob marley, priest bob marley, pastor bob marley. he wasnt born catholic, he probably didnt have that influence, nobody really got him thinking about it, but in a certain way he did understand about a feeling of love and peace. its like the comedians, you have richard pryor, and you have richard praytor. both very funny. the fact that one wants to channel comedy through a christian view, thats fantastic, and the other decides to perform comedy without that exact intention, its not bad either, plus who are we to judge him?

you cant go blasting off that bob marley is evil, because you probably didnt know him. the fact that he was totally baked proves that marijuana can corrupt you only if are corrupt to start with. marijuana doesnt really change who you are. if you are an ashhhoollleee without drugs, you will be an ******* on drugs and that is a too way street. if you believe that marijuana will make your personal life worse, THEN DONT DO IT. its not the negative circumstance of life that make life ******, its your negative outlook on life that make it appear your life is ******. there is always a solution, there is always a way out, you can come back to God anytime, but beware that the more times you come back to God, the harder it becomes.

No no, thats all you could reply with. I was watching the thread with interest but your use of bad language is highly innapropriate on this site. However the moderators have taken care of the matter and there is no need to discuss it further.

I got no problem with Bob Marley’s music, love it in fact, his theology was faulty but most famous people are not theologians.

I don’t think about his music containing spiritual messages, I want spiritual edication I have my own faith.

While you didn’t post for somebody to call you on foul language, that is not allowed here. No swear words. You’ll quickly find yourself banned if you continue to display bad language, I would think.

One thing that did indeed seem highly illogical to me, but it may be a simple misunderstanding. At the end of your long post did you tell people to go to Church having smoked marijuana? Once this is cleared up I may have further questions but until then thats all I have to ask.

yeah the Bible says kill those who work on the sabbath too. but doing drugs is like sex before marriage. once you do it, there might be a second time and probably a third. once the doo doo is broken you can do nothing to fix it. you cant go back in time and wish you were still a virgin. im a male, im 22, and i wish i could go back to that moment where i made a choice at 16 whether or not to fornicate. but what is done is done. im not going to succumb to depression out of guilt, im not going to devaste my whole life thinking about reversing that moment, im gonna try to make it up by becoming a better person, by helping others, by making people laugh, cheering them up, giving my umbrella up to someone who seems to need it more than i do. you dont feel guilty after you had some aspirin do you, and thats a drug? back in the day there wasnt aspirin, there was prayer and maybe some herb tea. i dont advocate for the use of cocaine, lsd, or heroine. becuase that is some messed up stuff made by some messed up people. marijuana is natural. if your mind is strong enough you wont get mentally addicted, if your body is healthy enough you wont become lazy while or after smoking marijuana, if you want to concentrate marijuan helps too. if you have anorexia marijuana helps too. if you got some stress, why not lay back with a joint or a pint of beer will do. you just dont have to take it to the extreme like smoking 5 joints, taking 7 lines of coke, 2 acid sheets, 2 mdma pills and 10 bottles of vodka. that is different from just having a joint or a space cake once in a while. its like a knife, you can use it to cut a throat or to peel an apple. i think God said dont get drunk, because He knows it tends to corrupt us. and duh, it does if you allow urself to get corrupted. if you cant handle it then do smoke, dont drink, and yet we can all still be happy.

This is not an apt comparison. You do not become intoxicated by aspirin.

So now you are the ultimate arbiter of what is corrupting and what is not? Not God? Remember 1 Corinthians 10:13, commonly paraphased as “God will not burden you with more than you can handle”. Next to that, all of your justifications are vanishingly insignificant. Face it: There is no reason to smoke marijuana outside of the fact that you like to do so and so can forget (or don’t really care to remember) what is forbidden to you. Sin is attractive to everyone in that way, but indulging in it while pretending that it is NOT sin is the height of denial and delusion.

You are splitting hairs. Intoxication is not allowed. It doesn’t have to specify the means.

I don’t think I was addressing all those things, but okay. Yes, aspirin is okay and marijuana is not. You do not become intoxicated by asprin as you do by marijuana.

What you personally consider a sin or not is of absolutely no importance. You do not get to decide such things.
