I am an Altar Server and in the sacristy there is a cupboard and in the cupboard there are Albs (gown) hung up and for Mass yesterday I borrowed someone’s own to serve for Mass. Does this consider as stealing?

Stealing means taking without returning. You clearly returned it and I’m guessing in the same state of cleanliness. Also, does this person even own the Alb? I was under the impression that churches normally owned them, the are not cheap. If this is the case, you really are using a garment for the purpose intended, it was simply temporarily assigned to another person.

OP, based on some of your other posts, are you speaking to someone about scrupulosity?

It isn’t their alb either. It belongs to the diocese.

Peace.
