Is buying Casio watches sinful?

Casio watches are generally regarded as cost effective and rugged, but the thing is, a collection of special edition watches of theirs has a title that refers to polytheism (If anyone wonders what it is, check the first collection on the G-Shock page).Therefore, is it sinful to purchase watches from them?
 
If you’re having second thoughts about it, just don’t buy it. Whether it is a sin or not is not for me to decide.

Better to play it safe than to not buy a watch that could scandalize someone.
 
I think it is about what others would think. Would you buy a watch that displayed the named “Hitler” on it?
The name could be complety coincidental and have nothing to do with the National Socialist, but it could still make others think the wearer of the watch is a supporter of the National Socialist. The same could be said for this watch that displays the name of a pagan false god.

That’s a bit of a ridiculous example given Hitler’s unique position in history. And he was a real person.

I can tell you I would totally buy at Thor watch or a Thor action figure. Or a Zeus watch or Poseidon. Yes, absolutely.

If I found the right page, it refers to a Bhutan prayer flag. I can’t see a problem with this, nor with the examples cited above. Would you refuse to buy a Mercury (false god) or Taurus (zodiac sign) automobile?

I once saw a cheap “Osama” watch in one of those claw-like vending machine skill games (the ones where the claws hardly ever pick up the desired item, they slide off instead). Now that would have been a problem.

Seems like a fancy Hipster watch to me. Overpriced in my opinion but not sinful.

There have been Christians who declined to use the conventional names in English for days of the week. The same would hold true for German, Dutch, and (I think) the Scandinavian languages. The names are different up to a point in Romance languages (though, strangely, not Portuguese) and are totally different in Polish.

Sinful or not depend on your soul. If you buy it and you think “buy” also means “worship” another god then its sinful (and in this way its actually funny and ridiculous of how you define those words). If not, then its not a sin. And I recommend you think in the 2nd way ^^
 
depends on the intentions of creator designer here. Maybe he just saw cool pattern.
But if he knew what he was doing I would advise against buying it.
 
Sorry. But if something like this rattles your Faith it is best to talk to a Priest to discuss the issue.
 
I just know that Subarus are touted as being “safe” cars, but I wouldn’t have one – not because of any theological qualms, but because I drove one once, and hated it. It had belonged to our dad, and after he passed away, my hubby and I inherited it. Neither of us liked it, and we sold it to hubby’s brother.

It is absolutely not sinful to buy watches from them, regardless of whether you buy one from the collection that makes a reference to polytheism or not.
