Is buying Coast to Coast AM's neswsletter too occultish/liberal

…to buy a subscription of it in order to get the 2 Fr. Malachi Martin interview CDs? The interviewees often have liberal takes on theology and he does have psychics and talk positively of reincarnation, but he did have a guy who became a creationist after having found evidence of dinosaurs and man living together as well as Malachi Martin and the hosts are nice to conservative Christian callers whether they talk of Guardian Angels or they’re making an Act of Faith in response to a New Ager. Sometimes, it (the show)'s just generally about uncontroversial matter as ghosts, Bigfoot and aliens. Maybe the show makes religions equal in validity by having this balance or maybe he intends to be fair. Do you think buying their “After Dark” newsletter would support the bad stuff or an indifferentism–even if just to get the CDs?

Foolish: Back when I was young and stupid (10 yrs ago) I listened to this show on AM radio. It was the only live show on in the middle of the night when I was driving to work. While the show is mildly entertaining, it is only so because the guests and the hosts are so totally clueless about science, logic, and reality. Many of the guests are borderline mental cases. A sampling of the types of guests that were most entertaining: Abducted by aliens(delusional); Tracked by secret government agencies (paranoid); Saw ghosts, aliens, Bigfoot, etc(hallucinations); And of course your favorite, Fr. Malachi Martin, exorcist extraordinaire!

Now maybe some of these guests are not mentally challenged. Perhaps they are just lying, or enjoy pulling a fast one with a good story on the late night listening public. Regardless, I don’t think you can put any stock in anything you hear on this show. Perhaps Fr. Martin is legit. But I doubt it. Just the fact that he appeared on this show pretty much proves that he’s not.

If I were you I’d continue to listen to the show for entertainment purposes only. But for Heaven’s sake, please don’t believe anything you hear! If you want to support them financially, do what you must. I think most of the listening public knows what they are hearing is just a good yarn.

Frankly, I’m sort of shocked to hear that the show is still on the air. 10 years ago I thought for sure it would wear thin after a few more years. I have a feeling Art Bell (original host) is sitting back enjoying the fruits of his storytelling on a yacht in the Caribbean right now

The fact that Martin appeared on the show is proof that he’s not legit? An ironic statement, considering your previous paragraph claiming that the show is “cluess” about logic.

ack: To quote myself, I used the phrase “pretty much proves”. Which is not a logical statement as far as I know. A logical statement would use the word proves without any modifiers. My statement is only intended to convey the slim possibility of factual knowledge being gleaned from a guest of this show. Which is more of a statistical statement rather than logical.

I would not accept a free Malachi Martin CD if it came free with a pound of chocolate, but to each his own. If he is styling himself “father” you might want to check with his bishop to see if he is in good standing, because I don’t think he is. I was forced to listen to this idiotic program while my mother was in her last illness because she insisted on having it on all night. 6 weeks was a lifetime of purgatory for me.

My crazy uncle listens to this show, because he believes in aliens. It may be mildly entertaining, like once a year, but more than that just grates on my brain cells. I feel them shrinking…
