Is Canada predomintly Catholic or Protestant?

Here in Canada and down under in New Zealand, the answer, unfortunately, is “neither”. Most of the two countries’ inhabitants are either lukewarm or secularist.

Pray for the Great White North and the Land of the Kiwis, y’all! 😃

This sounds about right but we have to take into account that (from a cultural perspective) Canada really has two separate countries inside of it.

Quebec, which makes up about a quarter of Canada’s population, is about 85% Catholic (that said, they actually have the lowest church attendance rate in the country). Quebec has much more in common, culturally, with western Europe then it does with the United States.

The rest of Canada is much more protestant (more like the US). Here in Alberta, we’re roughly 25-30% Catholic with a majority protestant christian background.
 
Depends where you are. The East tends to be traditional Catholic territory, but even that is eroding today. The West is what I always refer to “pagan lands”. In BC, less than 50% identify themselves as any type of Christian. Although the Lower Mainland is supported by the influx of mostly Catholic Filipino immigrants which have filled many parishes to the brim. But even Abp. Miller will admit, if not for the Filipino immigrants, he would have shut down literally half of all his parishes. I’ve been to many parishes with huge numbers of parishioners who are mostly Filipino, many of these parishes are even growing and have almost round-the-clock Masses on Sunday.

The archbishop should be helping to organize the Filipinos so they can conduct evangelization throughout the province. Something must be done in this country.
 
According to Stats Canada, in 2001, Catholicism was the predominant religion in Canada.
