Heh heh. šŸ™‚ I’m glad I could be of service. I must say, I was confused back when I made this account, but I have learned much here on these forums. I don’t think I’m as confused anymore. šŸ˜‰
***Hi!

I’m glad to know of your growth… perhaps you should consider changing the screen name… something like ā€œin His footsteps,ā€ or something else that shows your confidence in Jesus… but don’t change it on my account! šŸ˜›

***Hi, The Confused!

…are you familiar with the site? …I went there today to retrieve some Scriptures… the Bible link is gone… instead they offer several links to various ā€œstoreā€ sources… 😦

I am. And I know.
Why, just today, I went there to link someone else to it, only to realize that the site is gone. sigh the was a really good site to. The format, the version of the Bible, everything. Oh well… I’m sure there are others elsewhere. I may even check the Vatican website.

You can do that? I didn’t know you could change the screen name! I will do that. I had actually considered changing it, but I was unaware that this was possible. Thanks!

You can’t…

You can just create a new account with the new name and just abandon that one, maybe inserting a reference to your new name in your signature so people can find you and as a witness to your change. 🤷

***Hi, Michael!

…I do not know much about the system… but are you saying that the administration would not allow a name change?

…that is totally weird!–they allow any screen name (even those that are blasphemous) but they would not allow a simple name change? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Hi jcrichton,

Actually, it’s a function of the way the forum program is set up. It’s not really up to the moderator. It’s the same thing with email: if you want to change your username, you have to create a whole new account.

***Hi, unkajonet!

Thanks… I have used the same screen name on so many different places that I may have forgotten that there are set parameters… usually the email accounts allow you to use several screen names or is it several sub-accounts with different names (I’ve never done it… so I am not clear about it); either way though I think that, barring an official sanction, there should be a way to create a new name and link it to the original account–but don’t go by me, I also think that someone should monitor the selection of screen names so as to exclude those that proclaim an antithesis to the Forum’s agenda… again, that’s just me…

hi jcrichton!

It would definitely be nice. I think that the popular websites get so big, so fast, that some questionable things, like names, slip through the cracks.
I know that if you use the mail account with the Internet Provider you signed up with, you get to have sub accounts. For the free email providers, like hotmail, yahoo, et al., they won’t. I think the basic rule is: if you pay a fee, you have more options. Since posting to a forum is usually gratis, they’re not going to offer you extra features like linking old names to new. It’s an options/resources balance kind of thing.🤷

Anthony, I am sorry, but you are simply wrong about Palamas.

You will have to take your argument up with the Holy See, not me. It is with complete approval of the Holy See Palamas is on our calendar.

No one says you have to venerate him or pray to him, but I do, we do, and we will honor him the Second Sunday of Great Lent as we always do.
That he is on your calender does not make him a canonized saint of the Church.

You are wrong. He is. You do not have to accept him or pray to him, but he is a Saint for us, and so he is a Catholic saint, we are a Catholic Church. You are very disrespectful to your fellow Catholics.I am done arguing with you about him.
