My four grandchildren all go to Catholic school. The oldest started at a public school for kindergarten. Her father is not Catholic and felt that public schools were better. My daughter disagreed and I also did. By the way my son-in-law has completely changed his mind about how much better Catholic schools are.
Well she finished kindergarten and could not even read. They decided to move back to Michigan and my daughter decided to put Kailen in Catholic school. I insisted that she retake kindergarten as I had heard that the children in Catholic schools were far ahead of the publilc school children. Well within two months Kailen was reading.
Also while in public school at 5 years old a boy pushed her over and kicked her, he was never disciplined. She has never forgotten that incident.
The grandkids have been in Catholic schools in Michigan, England and California and have never had any real abuse from other children. They actually are afraid to go to public school. Although one has a learning disability she is doing very well. They work hard, but are all beyond others in public schools.
Also even though some of the parish schools are not traditional, they have been taught the faith very well. It is expensive compared to the free education at public schools, but as they say you get what you pay for. The school only charges for 3 out of the 4.
My daughter can’t home school because she has chronic fatigue disorder and another medical problem.
I suggest if at all possible Catholic families should send their children to Catholic schools.
