Maybe I will.

XD
I didn’t say that to be condescending. Good to have you here.

I’ve been on this forum for about 7 years. In that time, I’ve seen a lot of what I call “hit-and-run” posters. They ask questions and demand responses. When somebody responds directly to them - they completely ignore the answers given and keep posting as if their question was never answered.

It gets old after a while - and it’s immature.

It does not have to be quoted in the NT. Jesus did not quote Esther, Ecclesiastes, or Song of Solomon. But we know that they are the word of God.
Agreed, but if it IS quoted in the New Testament, then there is at least some credence to the book.

I see, and I notice how they seem to dislike very large volumes of text even if it is a response to their question.

Thank you for the greeting.

Do I have to get baptized again if I was to go back to the church?
No.
Go to reconcilliation, then go to mass, and you’re back home, but there’s no harm at all in going to RCIA for a little while anyway to help enrich you catechesis. I can’t recommend it enough.

Peace,

Steven

This is true. Here’s how the game is usually played: a non-Catholic rolls into the forum and throws out what he (it’s almost always a male) considers to be his best “stump the Catholic questions”. Each of these questions could take pages (if not volumes) to answer, but we try to whittle it down to the bare essentials. Even that is too much for these folks to read.

Maybe they thought it would be fun to go “save some Catholics” one evening, but when it doesn’t go their way, they just mutter something about “pearls before swine”, “shake the dust from their feet” and vanish.

*Hello Nubio!

You did not answer my questions but no matter. However please answer this.

When you decided to leave the Catholic Church did you just walk out of the door or did you ask questions of the Priest?

Were you ever confirmed?

If you have been exposed to the fullness of the truth and then you reject it, are you aware that you become an Apostate and that has severe consequences? Have you read Hebrews? Have you heard of the unforgivable sin?

I never made a decision to leave the Church I just never came back one day and when I returned 27 years later and really learned about the Catholic faith I was surprised and astounded and very very excited to learn of such beauty and wonder!

You say you are done and have nothing more to say. Well then, if you learned anything here or discovered truths that you did not know would you not have further questions?
:)

Which question did you ask? I did not read all the post.

Any ways I left because no one was able to answer my question untill now . Yes I knew the teachings of the Church, but when I had a problem with it, no one could answer me. I am aware of the unforgivable sin ( blasphemy of the Holy Spirit) and I have read the all of the NT.

I was a confirmed when I was baptized as a infent. I don’t know why the church would do that.

…sure to appear. 😃

Mr. Filmer,

BTW can anyone please tell me what is the best way to remember scriptures? I need help here. Apparently, I am not good at qouting by memory so if anyone has any ideas. I would appreciate. That way I can solidify my points. Thanks and God bless you Noobio!!
This is my advice. You go to the most common verses in the Bible( or the verses you want to know) and read them as much as you can. You can also write them down on a piece of paper. Also, know what the verse talking about. After this practice reciting the verses without reading a bible in your hand.

I was baptised at a chaldean church.
*So I was correct - you are from the Middle East! Remember I picked up on the confusion between p and b and asked you about it. I once worked for an Egyptian and he would constantly confuse the p and the b.

I am now a former Cathloic. I had a lot of problems with the cathloic teachings such as purgatory, praying for the dead, infent babtism, extra books ( apocrypha) wrong titles given to Mary and other teachings. I just want to know where are some of these teachings are found in the Bible.
The Catholic Church certainly is biblical- the Catholic Church gave us the Bible! It didn’t just fall out of the sky at Pentecost. The canon of scripture (the list of books) was decided in an early Church council. If something Catholic doesn’t seem biblical, I find it helpful to try an understand the Catholic position better. I have found that books by Scott Hahn are helpful in this area.

So, instead of being a “baptist”, he was a “papist”? 😉

*LOL!

Yes and it is babtism and not baptism!

They are nice people and I used to have such a laugh. They are also suspicious and question everything exhaustively.

*I attend daily Mass and there are a number of Maronites who attend also and they are deeply committed, they are faithful and constant. It is wonderful to observe their commitment. I have observed them for years. In fact we pick up one of them on our way to Church every morning. She knows that she is always welcome to come with us but she will still phone me to confirm!

God bless them

Well, believe it or not. You were good enough to be cleansed of original sin.

That is why the Church would do that. Are infants not allowed to be cleansed?

I

I accpet Sola Scriptura because I believe that that the Bible alone should be authoritative over the Christian faith.

The bible supports this teaching.

1 Corinthians 4:6
6 Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “**Do not go beyond what is written.” **Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other.
Later on in the same letter, Paul says to hold fast to the traditions that he has passed on (chapter 11, I believe). Clearly, he expected for them to hold on to something that was not written. Either Scripture contradicts itself, OR the Church is right.

In any event, I thought it was peculiar that you say “authoritative”. Who is the authority to say it is authoritative? Who is the authority to settle disputes about Truths taught in the Bible? For example, how does one discern soul-sleep vs. immediate salvation/condemnation upon death? Both of them cite biblical cases. Who is the authority? Or is one verse better than another?

Determining whether or not Sola Scriptura is true is a simple exercise in logic and definition of terms. It is the final norm and authority on all doctrines. In my questions above, you will see the outright contradictions.
