I was listening to a Christian station last night and I heard them say that it is wrong for Christians to celebrate Halloween… I wanted to find out how the Catholic Church viewed this issue. Is it a sin and if so where can I find biblical reference to this and a reasoning why it is a sin?

Many non-Catholic Christians worry about Halloween because they appear to believe that the secular traditions associated with the holiday (e.g., spooky decorations and costumes, trick-or-treating) connote approval for evil. For Catholics the spirit of Halloween is best summed up by St. Thomas More:
