Modern Catholic Dictionary:

CHEATING. Deception by trickery or fraud in order to gain materially, socially, or psychologically. Cheating is always sinful. Its gravity depends on the harm inflicted on the person defrauded or on some third party. True repentance for cheating requires at least the willingness to make restitution for the harm that may have been caused.
If you are playing a game alone, then no one is defrauded. If everyone who could possibly be affected by your “cheating” (e.g. friends with whom you play) are fine with your “cheating,” then again, no one is defrauded. No sin is committed.

Come on now. You know you’re not allowed to cheat at a video game, just like your not allowed to talk dirty to your wife. You must always be polite and a good little boy, even on meaningless things like videogames.

Stop it. 😛 Some people may think you are serious.

Pretend Jesus is one of the players you’re competing against. Of course, he would know that you’ve injected fraud into the game, and he would allow your cheating, but you would be robbing him of some pure fun … and yourself.

I’m not saying a sin was committed. I was giving the Catholic definition of cheating for the benefit of the OP.

In some of kierkegaard’s works he claimed that is still was meant to deceive. Maybe that is my intent.:hmmm: 😃 😉

Am I? That is the question.😃
I meant to say that kierkegaard’s style was meant to deceive, atleast from what he claimed in some of his writings.
