Following these verses:

"Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s , and to God what is God’s.” Matthew 22:15-22

"But when you pray, go into your room,
close the door and pray to your Father,
who is unseen. Then your Father, who
sees what is done in secret, will reward
you. "Matthew 6:6

“But when you go without food, put oil on your head and make your face clean”. Matthew 6:17

“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.” Matthew 26:52

“It is easier for a camel to pass
through the eye of a needle than for a rich
man to enter the Kingdom of God”

Jesus answered, “If you want to be
perfect, go, sell your possessions and
give to the poor, and you will have
treasure in heaven. Then come, follow
me.” Matthew 19:21

You seem to be a bit confused. Is the United States a Secular Socialist country, comrade?

Edvard

Christianity is incompatible with socialism, so that is that.

No.

And remember a text without context is a pre-text for a proof text. IOW reading verses out of context leads to mass confusion and 30,000 plus denominations.

God bless.

Well, the Catholic Church has condemned Socialism. On the other hand, the Catholic Church has defined Socialism rather precisely i.e.: State ownership of the means of production, as opposed to the FOX News/Republican definition of Socialism i.e.: everything we don’t like.

Likewise with pacifism… yes, but not in a Quaker-like way. There are Catholic conditions for what constitutes a just war, though that necessity is always lamentable.

I guess I would say there are elements of both socialism and pacifism, as commonly understood, in Catholicism, but it is neither in the end.

It’s easy to draw your own conclusions when you take things out of context.

"Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s , and to God what is God’s.” Matthew 22:15-22

Translation: Abide by the laws of your country unless it conflicts with God’s will.

"But when you pray, go into your room,
close the door and pray to your Father,
who is unseen. Then your Father, who
sees what is done in secret, will reward
you. " Matthew 6:6

"But when you go without food, put oil on your head and make your face clean, so that you may not appear to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you." Matthew 6:17-18
(Extended to include verse 18)

Translation to both: Don’t be a phony Christian and try to let everyone know how “Christian” you are. If you are really Christian, it will show without you trying.

**“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.” Matthew 26:52 **

Translation: Think before you act

Jesus answered, “If you want to be
perfect, go, sell your possessions and
give to the poor, and you will have
treasure in heaven. Then come, follow
me.” Matthew 19:21

"It is easier for a camel to pass
through the eye of a needle than for a rich
man to enter the Kingdom of God" Matthew 19:24

Translation to both: Don’t focus so much on material things, God is more important and the source of true happiness.

So, how is this secular, socialist, or pacifist?

Everything Christ did and said refrerred back to His Father so there is no way Christianity can be secular. Once the teachings of Jesus are secularized, it is no longer Christianity.
