If all of Christianity is a lie, who started the lie? For what benefit? It has lasted 2,000+ years so far. That a lie would last so very long without being definitively refuted is beyond comprehension.

You might want to do some research on how the apostles died. None of them recanted. No one dies such brutal death for a lie.

This is an easy one. Lack of faith and without it you will always find contradiction since there is no possible way you will know everything in this life.

The apostles watched our Lord ascend in to heaven and for me that is more than enough. The mere fact that the universe exists should also be enough. Where did the universe come from it had to come from somewhere?

I’m a geoscientist by the way.

This thread topic reminds me of a Bible passage.

Luke (A Physician during his time)

Luke 17:6
And the Lord said, If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this sycamine tree, ‘Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obeye you.

God Bless I wish you a Solemn and prayerful Holy Week.

I’m have a Ph.D. and am a devout believer in Christianity. Openness to the Spirit has nothing to do with intelligence or lack thereof. In fact, it may be harder for intellectuals to come to Christ because doing so always involves humility and submission to God, and many self-satisfied people refuse to do that. The young rich man who went away sad when Jesus told him to give away all his goods can stand not only for material goods but other goods, such as those of the intellect, as well.

23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”
Mark 9:23-25

We can pray for faith.

One comment about intelligence…first, every faith and no faith have some amazingly intelligent people in them. Intelligence is not really a factor but, what very intelligent people are able to do is intelligently reason their beliefs no matter what those beliefs are. If they believe the word is flat, they can use reason and logic to support that belief and are thus the hardest people to get to change their minds!

It can be done but their intelligence is what they use to protect those beliefs. Never use someone’s intelligence as a reason to believe. Use your own.
