Hey,

I don’t really know. I believe non-catholics are just as saved as us catholics so in my opinion its not necessary for your salvation but maybe necessary for your faith.

I ain’t no expert though.

It’s not confirmation that saves you.
Thanks TrueLight, My wife is a convert of about 53yr. and I’m pretty sure she was never confirmed.

After reading many of the threads here, it seems many here are implying Confirmation is necessary? She is 73 & has Alzheimer & could/would not be able to understand or forgo the instructions necessary for the sacrament.

Confirmation is the Sacrament by which baptized non-Catholic Christians are brought into the Church. It is almost always done at the same Mass as the convert’s First Communion. You should be able to check the parish records where she was when she joined the Church to make sure.

There is no required instruction for Confirmation. Even infants can be confirmed, especially if they are in danger of death. If you find out she was not confirmed, the priest may still confirm her - the Sacrament confers grace which we all need.

Thanks Corki, Now I’m really 😊
I think maybe I’m the one coming down with Alzheimer as I asked this same or similar question in this same forum 3 or 4 years ago. And Puzzleannie,(I think) gave the same suggestion to check with that parish. Only I didn’t, but remembered it was Confirmation she received.😊 Albeit a very fast ceremony with my cousins standing in for my parents as God Parents.😊
I had thought it was baptism she received, but was not because she was already Baptized as a Christian with the proper form.

Good. It sounds like you have enough on your plate to have to worry about this too. Glad it’s resolved.
