I’m wondering something here. I know that cloning is unethical, that is, delayed twins of people made by genetic manipulation and a modified ovum, but what about the use of a stem cell from a person’s body in the formation of an organ. Let’s say I’ve damaged my heart in an accident, for example. Would it be ethical to take stem cells from my body (they are present in human adults, I read, just in reduced numbers) and introduced it into an environment where it would develop into heart tissue. Would that be ethical since it’s just a modification of a natural self-repair process in our bodies?
