Let’s see if I can walk this razor’s edge one more time without being accused of being a racist.

I can’t speak to intelligence or any other kind of mental capacity or lack thereof of the various “races” or mixtures of races. However, when it comes to physiognomy, some things are interesting to observe. I am not an anthropologist and make no representations, just the following observations.

-European descended people have heavier brow ridges, on average, than do other “races”. Is it possible that Neanderthals were actually cross-fertile with Homo Sapiens, so that certain physical traits were inherited from them? This characteristic is shared by the Ainu of Japan, once thought to be “white”, but now generally believed to be of Australoid origin; being another people with heavy brow ridges.
-Watching the Olympics, it is easy to observe the physical differences in musculature among Europeans, Asians and Africans (or those of African descent). Without meaning to cause anyone to blush, “bun” size varies downward from Africans to Europeans to Asians. Blacks do tend to be disproportionately represented in the winners’ circles in running. Asians are disproportionately unrepresented in those circles.
-North Asians are, on the whole, taller and bigger boned than South Asians. It has recently been determined that North Asians share more DNA with Europeans than they do with South Asians.

The last, I think, also supports Feanor’s proposition that there really are no distinct “races” in the way we often think of them. If North Chinese share more DNA with Europeans than they do with, e.g., Vietnamese or even South Chinese, then to what “race” do North Chinese belong? To what “race” do Europeans belong?

Yes there are undeniable physical differences between individuals of different races. An example is skin colour. White people having a lower count of melanin is thought to be an adaptation to avoid rickets caused by a vitamin D deficiency (Vitamin D is produced inside the body, and needs sunlight, which was less powerful in the harsh European climate).

That said, there is no logical reason to hate someone because they have more melanin than you. There is little evidence supporting the ridiculous idea that brain size and penis size are linked (Why an economist/psychologist thought he had any authority in the field of physiology or genetics is beyond me).

Being proud of your skin colour is like being proud of having feet.

Our friend bullfighter decided to recommend a book written by a racist about how inferior other races are. I decided to illustrate the point that the differences between races are far from clear cut, and that the author of the book he offers is no more a geneticist than he is a lawnmower.

And internet 'trolls" are often not what they portray themselves to be either. We’ve had race bating in our local newspaper blogs, too.Usually the same person under various aliases.
