@cookie-san I think you need a Generational Healing service it’s a part of the counselling, where forgiveness prayer is a part of inner healing ,sins against the 10 Commandments and hidden sin are revealed,to the Catholic Priest who has the gift of deliverance, prays over the person. Who is then set free, Sin has consequences, that’s why Jesus came into the world to save us, Hear the inclination of a particular sin are at times is a generational sin for eg lust ,if the great grandparent committed adultery the next 4 generation would be inclined towards the spirit of lust unless at least one of the family member is prayed over by a pious priest who has the gift of deliverance or lead a holy life and Jesus shows mercy and set them frees this can be even the second generation if its done then it will not effect the next generations.God Bless
1 John 3:8 Everyone who commits sin is a child of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
sin has consequences and God punishes us for it so that we may realize our mistakes and repent and come back to the Lord
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
In the New Testament, Jesus talks about the blood of the prophets killed in previous generations being brought to bear on the current generation in Jerusalem (Matthew 23:29-36 and Luke 11:47-51)
“We have sinned like our ANCESTORS, we have done wrong and are guilty….” (Ps 106: 6-48).
Lamentations 5: 7: “Our forefathers have sinned and are now dead, and we bear their punishment.”
Pope John Paul II in his Apostolic Letter, “Adveniente Millennio Tertio,” made affirming statements regarding the need to heal the effects in us in the present resulting from sins committed in past generations. He urged the Bible-based mentality of Leviticus 26:40: “Confess your iniquity and the iniquity of your ancestors.”
We can’t blame our ancestors forever thing, our personal sin separate us from God and His blessings. But unconfessed sin brings curses.
Baptism heals us from original sin but not the effects of sin. This one sin has effected the whole of humanity so why is it hard to understand that certain grave sins can cause curses for generations, it’s not venial sin but gravity of Their sins like witchcraft etc can cause great damages to current and future family members.
I could write way more to explain the biblical sources and spirituality of healing of the family tree which doesn’t go against catholic teaching or theology.
God bless
