I do not drink the precious blood when I receive Communion. I know it’s okay for someone with a drinking problem to refuse the chalice, but do we have the option to pass up the chalice for any other reason?

A whole and complete Communion is made by the reception of either the host or the precious blood. Although it is fine to receive both when both are offered, it is not required for anyone to receive both. If you prefer to receive the host alone, that is your prerogative.
