So if Christianity thats bible forbids eating pork?
Why are all christians,or majority of them eating pork?
Kind regards, and i would like to hear Christian perspective on pork consumption šŸ™‚

Briefly…
  1. In the beginning…God created us…
    Vegetarians…
Genesis 1:29 ā€œ**I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. **30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.ā€ And it was so."
  2. God’s people were to be Vegetarians all of the way until God blessed Noah with the new covenant and allowed His people to be…
MEAT EATERS with only one restriction…
Genesis 9:1 "Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
4 ā€œ**But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. **ā€
Ohh, just in case, all kinds of animals were in the ark, both clean and unclean…
  1. Then comes the LAW with MOSES…READ ALL OF Leviticus and Deutoronomy to see how God, through Moses forbids eating of some animals, including…
    PORK…
  2. Then in Acts 10 and repeated again in Acts 11 God has this to say : "2So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him 3and said, ā€œYou went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them.ā€
4Peter began and explained everything to them precisely as it had happened: 5"I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was. 6I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air. 7Then I heard a voice telling me, 'Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’

8"I replied, 'Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’

9"The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ā€˜Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’ 10This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again…

This is how God gave once again all kind of animals to eat and how God made clear that the Gentiles are made clean by the blood of His Eternal Son Jesus.

May God bless you,

Your brother,Luigi

When you say ā€œbibleā€ I assume you mean Old Testament, Old Covenant.

Christians are New Testament, New Covenant people and are not bound by the dietary laws of the Old. So are free to eat pork.

Also, when Jesus died on the cross, the old law died with him.
He said to Saint Peter after his ressurection: " And being hungry, he was desirous to taste somewhat . And as they were preparing, there came upon him an ecstasy of mind.

And he saw heaven opened and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great linen sheet let down by the four corners from heaven
to the earth:

Wherein were all manner of four-footed beasts and creeping things pf the earth and fowls of the air.

And there came a voice to him: Arise, Peter, Kill and eat.

But Peter said: Far be it from me. For I never did eat any thing that is common and unclean.

And the voice spoke to him again the secind time: That which God hath cleansed, do not thou call common.

Acts 10: 10-15 ( from the DRV )

It is shown that God declared that what one normally did not
eat before Jesus died on the cross, was edible after the law died
with him on the cross. There is no ban on pork.

One or two tiny sects within Christianity, most notably the sect known as Seventh-day Adventism, expressly do not eat pork or other foods forbidden by the Old Testament. Many SDA’s do not eat any meat at all. We discussed this with respect the the SDA’s just recently. See the following link:

From one of my own posts in that thread:

Please read the passage in Romans (Romans 14: 1-23) that I cited. It clearly stresses that we are not to be judging one another with regard to what we eat or drink. There are several parallel passages on the same topic. Galatians 4:10; I Corinthans 8: 8-13; Matthew 15: 11-17; Mark 7: 14-19; Acts 10: 10-15. I think the context of Scripture as a whole strongly argues that while we might choose to eat or drink a certain way for personal reasons of health, no particular diet is prescribed or circumscribed for the Christian believer.

It’s interesting to note, however, that some people choose not to eat all the foods forbidden in the OT anyway. There are some that say, ā€œyes it is ok to eat it, but it’s still not healthy.ā€ for example, shell fish. They dwell on the botom of the sea and eat all the junk that lays there. Also, they are not protected as well from poisons in the water as are ā€œclean fishā€ (their fins and scails provede a better filter). I live in FL and when red tide comes after some large storms, people are told not to eat any shell fish because they are poisonous during this time.
Also, pigs eat everything in their path and as the old saying goes, ā€œyou are what you eatā€. so it may not be a sin to eat pork, but it’s also probably not a sin to eat foods laced with tons of additives such as MSG and aspertame, but they are BAD for us! I’ve read a book called, ā€œwhat would Jesus eat?ā€ and it address this very health issue. God gave us dominion over the earth, and with that comes the ability to learn about the earth. Doesn’t it make sense that God would want to protect His people from unhealthy meats and fish? None of His laws were made up ā€œjust becauseā€.
Anyway, that’s my opinion on the matter šŸ™‚

With the New Testament, the old kosher laws are gone. As long as you cook pork fully it is fine. Shell fish overall is fine if prepared properly. I love both and am glad that the Church doesn’t have any eating restrictions (other than the appointed Fasts and Abstinence times).

About anything edible can be corupted, however, that can be avoided.

Only if has been exorcised. Jesus said its not what goes in that is unclean its what comes out.So make sure you eat pulled pork only. 😃 God Bless
