We don’t know. The charitable thing to do would be to pray for the repose of his soul.

Or how about Ghandi? Is he in Heaven?

Also, doesn’t the CCC address this issue? Why not consult the CCC rather than an anonymous message board?

So you dont speculate if your loved one are in heaven?
I certainly hope they are, but I realize that almost all of us would need some sort of purification, and nobody knows how long that takes. Time as we know it does not exist in purgatory.

And, sad to say, I had at least one cousin who made abundantly clear his contempt for God’s holy Church and her teachings. He died fairly young and without warning. I pray he made it.
Or how about Gandhi? Is he in Heaven?
Let’s hope so. Dona eis requiem, Domine.

I think he’s in heaven. God loves him, as well as each one of us, deeply, and does everything in his power to help us to heaven.
I have heard that he was a Christian, and believe it.

Elvis Presley - The Miracle of the Rosary
This is amazing. His wife Priscilla was Catholic and I hope she had some good influence on him. I find that most Christians have a basically good feeling towards Catholicism, if it is properly presented to them — even if they will never agree on the finer points of doctrine and moral theology, or agree that they must enter the Church to fulfill God’s Will for them.

Pray for his soul.

From the documentaries l have seen, he was a a conflicted man.

Does God love Ghandi and other Hindus?
Of course He does. He loves everyone, and wants only the best for them. He works in their lives as he works in ours, to draw them closer to the good, the true and the beautiful.
C.S. Lewis has a beautiful chapter in The Last Battle in which a character who has been worshiping Tash, an evil bird demon, meets Aslan. Aslan tells him that all the worship he had given to Tash, thinking he was good, had been accepted by Aslan.
