Is everyone in heaven a saint?

Please explain if all the souls who are in heaven are saints? If this is the case, then is it also true that non-Catholics can be saints? If all the above are true, please define what a saint is?

The *Catechism of the Catholic Church * defines a saint as follows: “The “holy one” who leads a life in union with God through the grace of Christ and receives the reward of eternal life.” To the extent that those outside the Catholic Church may be saved, non-Catholics may be saints.
