My pastor said today in his homily that everyone is called to the religious life, that the only vocations are to the religious life, and that the married state is not a vocation. Is this true? If so, how can anyone be married but still be a saint, since they have disobeyed the call? There have been many saints throughout the ages who have not been religious. How could the human race propagate itself without married people? Did God not say to Adam and Eve, “Be fruitful and multiply.”???
