Is Everything In the Bible Pertinent? [We Must ALL Agree (part 3)]

+Come, Holy Spirit!+

Let me expound:

Is everything in the Bible important?
Are there parts of the Bible that are superfluous?
(Meaning, are there things mentioned in the Bible that have no significance?)

Regardless of responses, I am not necessarily looking for specific examples. We can save that for future threads.

My instinct is to say yes. I dont get the impression from the Bible that there’s much information about peoples daily lives other that what pertanes to the christian life and salvation and the desire of God, I imagine ink and parchment was rare so the writers would have made every word count, and The Holy Spirit inspired it. He is not, best as I can tell, given over to chit chat. 😃

I believe that there’s literally something for everyone. For those with a true heart devoted to worship, there are Psalms and songs of thanks. For those who interpret prophecy, there’s a mound of it to tackle. For those who look to the past to advance into the future, there’s a great deal of that. For those who desire a life of quiet contemplation, there’s a bunch to work with.

And so on.
 
The worst is wading through all the geneologies, but, if you really think about it, those are important as well. 😃
