We always have a choice. As children, we will naturally be taught by our parents what they believe. However, as we grow we develop our own thoughts and sense of reasoning. Therefore, we have the ability to choose the religion that we believe is the correct one. Most often however, we stay with the religion that we are raised with because it is engrained in us and is most familiar.
The quote and way in which she said it also gave me the impression she had never challenged it.
This is the key right here. Most people do not challenge their faith. Especially when they are raised with it. Knowledge is the best thing we can strive for. When we challenge our roots and look at them critically then we can find the truth.
Anyway, my questions to this forum:
If one church really is THE church, how can I accept that as true seperated from my experience and teaching?
Don’t. If you have a question then find the answer. Research the things that you do not know.
If someone has faith only because “my parents told me too”, how can God possibly be more accepting of them than someone who’s parents told them to do something else?
God gave us our own free will to choose our path. It is not for us to decide who God will or will not accept. It is for us to decide if we are doing what He wants us to do.
How can you judge someone as being wrong when your faith is ‘right’ simply because it’s what society and events have brought you to believe?
Don’t. I have the same answer for this one. Always hold God in your heart and look with earnest intent. “Seek and ye shall find.” Look for the answers that you seek.
