Is fasting while pregnant okay?

Is okay to fast while pregnant or would that cause too much stress on the baby? I feel I’m not really participating in Lent much be-c I haven’t really fasted on Fridays.

Any suggested meal plans that are considered okay for a 15 wks high risk pregnancy? I’ve only been labeled high risk due to being over 35, I’m 36 so I’m now over the hill in society’s eyes

Dear friend,

No one is obliged to fast during the Fridays of Lent—let alone pregnant women.
The obligation is for abstaining from red meat and poultry; not for fasting. The only days that require fasting are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. I wouldn’t advise pregnant women to fast at all.
