I know of Father DiOrio. If I’m not mistaken, he was a member of an Italian religious congregation, the Missionary Society of St. Charles Borromeo (also known as the Scalabrinians, after their founder Blessed John Baptist Scalabrini), and he served in an Italian parish in my hometown that the Society was located, before he left them and became a diocesan priest.

I’ve never been to any of his ‘healing services’, but I know people who have and who promote them heavily. In fact, he did one in the Syracuse area just last week.

I’m not overly fond of such things-I like the term that Mother Angelica used in the biography written by Raymond Arroyo, ‘a disease called ‘healingitis’.’ Sometimes people have to suffer, and they should learn to offer them in union with Our Lord on the Cross. Sufferings can help save sinners.

I understand what you mean in the last sentence; but you need not worry if you go to a priest for a healing service. He is God's priest and God doesn't work against God.

We should bear our personal crosses; but not refuse a healing from God. All suffering can be said for the Glory of God. But healings also Glorify God too!

Not sure why a Priest with a gift from god is being called a fraud/fake etc…

So why bother praying for anyone ?

Why did Jesus heal anyone ?

Let them suffer and earn heaven.

I realize that the post to which I am responding is from a few years ago, but found myself on this site after looking for information and schedules for Father DiOrio. I can tell you first hand that he is the “real deal”. He is an extremely faith-filled man who I have seen on a number of occasions since 1989. I have personally had a healing at his service. And NO, he is not “creepy” or “not of God”. That is completely ridiculous! He is a kind, gentle, holy man who was given an incredible gift, and obligation to God’s people. Anyone who thinks otherwise was clearly blinded by the devil and may want to check themselves. I have seen hundreds of miracles, to which he never claims responsibility for. He always says that God is working in you, not him. He is just the instrument God uses to reach you. He doesn’t even need to physically touch you, as in my case. I am not a fanatic, just a woman who “was lost and now is found”. Do not be afraid to go to one of his services. It is life-changing!

Thank You Marcha for your testimony. I was given 3 to 6 months to live as I tested positive for pancreatic cancer. So I went to a healing service of Fr. Manny Fernandez. I stood in line before the altar of God and I saw people falling out as this priest prayed over them. I was talking to God silently and said “Lord I know You can heal me but I am a strong man and I don’t believe I will fall as the others are doing. But if it is your Will so be it.” I was knocked down once by an adult when I was in high school who out weighted me by 100 lbs. I was 47 when I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Father started to pray and he touched my head ever so lightly and then waves and waves of Something, I dare say it was the Holy Spirit. Never before in my life I felt like that and I woke up on the floor. On the way home the upper right hand quadrant of my stomach was hot and it felt good. There was no nausea or pain.
Next day ultrasounds were done as the doctor put it to me: “To see how big the tumors are.” My pancreas was clear and there were no tumors. And for the first time in months all blood tests were normal. I was healed.
Code:
That was spring 1997. From time to time I get sick and nauseated but I offer this suffering to Christ. I firmly believe the Holy Spirit healed me because I needed more time to grow in Christ.

I never doubt that God can work miracles through His Clergymen.

YES. Father Diorio is the real deal. I went to his services many times back in the 1990s after I had emergency surgery for endometriosis that involved years of pain and also removed most of one of my ovaries. I was young, single, alone and very sad. I went to his services and received comfort and the closest connection to God I had ever knew, especially his Holy Spirit, who I never really understood before then.

At the services I saw people get up out of wheel chairs and walk and the woman sitting next to me was hunched over with osteoporosis – gradually stood up strait. Sounds crazy, but I prefer the word miraculous. Eventually, when I went back to the doctor, they told me my ovary, which was largely removed, was normal size. They had no explanation.

We can all make excuses for things we don’t understand, but why can’t we accept the fact that God does still deliver miracles and he uses his servants down here to do so?

But the biggest gift associated with going to see Father Ralph is the utter peace and joy it brings to life and the power of the Holy Spirit that stays with you. His services and tapes that listened to repeatedly brought me great comfort and the spiritual healing that I needed. That is his most important service.

I recently sent a friend there who is suffering with cancer. I believe she saw this page before going and had a hard, closed heart–until she met Father Ralph who prayed for her. She knew instantly he was a vehicle of God’s grace. The Holy Spirit is comforting her now thanks to his prayers and she’s had some unusual medical responses, like suddenly being able to walk after a tumor in her brain has made her lame. We now await and pray for her recovery.

So please don’t say his a fraud until you really open your heart and mind and go see for yourself. You don’t have to be “charismatic” or whatever label you want to put on it, to see these graces. It’s all from God. Rather than question his authenticity, I suggest any doubters go to his masses with open hearts. He does not do this for himself. It’s complete service and is a burden that he willingly accepts. We should pray for him and his ministry. God is not a distant being in the sky somewhere, he’s here working through good humble souls like Father Ralph Diorio.

YES.

ABSOLUTELY. He healed - by the power of the Holy Spirit - who was infertile for 7+ years. Myself and my 3 other siblings are a direct result of him being used as a tool. The doctors said it was impossible what happened. All of the medications and specialists to cure her of her severe endometriosis did nothing. It was GOD. She never met Fr. Ralph in her life, but he knew all of her medications, trials, and conditions. She felt a flash of intense heat pass through her right as he said “YOU ARE HEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT”, and she started balling. Then my parents found out they were pregnant a few months later - in intense disbelief. It’s real - he’s real. You can message me and I’ll talk to you if you have questions. Praise Jesus!

Father DiOrio is a Saint. I first met him at a healing service in the late 70,s which I attended with both my sons and their girlfriends. Since then my son Gerard and myself have attended at least one service per year and each time we either received either a physical or emotional healing and sometimes both. His goodness and great love for God were evident from the first meeting and only increased over the years. He is a kind loving Priest who feels such great compassion for everyone and only Jesus works through him.

If you go to him with bitterness or unforgiveness in your heart, or with suspicion or doubt of his overwhelming devotion to his Priesthood then you will receive nothing. If he seemed to avoid you I believe it’s because he was guided by the Holy Spirit to avoid contact with any form of negativity during his most Holy Service to our Lord.

My son and I love him, trust him and pray to God to keep him with us for many years to come. I was spared a number of operations due to his prayer and my faith that Jesus was guiding him and giving him the strength to speak of God sometimes for six hours and blessing everyone. Can you imagine any person of any age standing, walking, praying, blessing hundreds of people being able to withstand the toll on ones body and spirit if not through the grace of God.

He also was never doing all this for money or fame, he did it for his love for God and all God’s people. He was always humble and very hesitant to ask for donations, but he finally had to do this in order to oontinue his Blessed Ministry. I’m truly sorry for the people who judge him poorly and unjustly . .

I once brought my Mother to him, but her deeply ingrained fears prevented her from letting go and trusting God to heal her . God can only make changes in a persons life if they open up and allow Him to . I and my Son always believed that through Father DiOrios great faith and his intercession for us increased our faith to the degree necessary for receiving healings.

Father DiOrio is not a fraud and I don’t know anyone who could listen to and see all the misery he does and bear it as a soldier of Christ in order to deepen the faith of those who come in contact with him… That’s true sacrifice and we thank him with all our hearts for being the wonderful loving obedient Priest that he is.

Sincerely
Nancy Wagner and family

Nancy, late 70’s ?

I first met Fr Diorio in 1976 at St Bernard’s, where he began his healing ministry.

I find it interesting that the only people to use the word “fraud,” was the OP, in his question. And those that defend Father Diorio.

Why is that?

And why the hit and run post? 🤷

First of all what is a hit and run post and what is an OP that you refer to. What are you trying to convey to me?

What part of the statement, “not a fraud,” are you have a problem with ? 🤷

Jim

I said Father DiOrio is not a fraud, seems the use of the word fraud somehow bothered you. So let me clarify: Father DiOrio is Legit. I see no point in making an issue out of the use of one word… To me being illegitimate is akin to being a fraud. Very sad that the frist time I post on a forum I’m compared to an OP which I have no idea what an OP is and you never answered my questions regarding your comments…

A hit and run post is a post, posted by someone who joins to make just one post. There seem to be numerous posts like that on this thread.

OP is original poster.

It simply seems to me that there was on person asking a question. The OP. And for some reason people feel compelled to join CAF just so they can answer this one post.

Nancy, you do realize that the OP posted his question 3 years ago, right?

No one has said that he is a fraud. That is my point.

You weren’t compared to anyone. Or anything.

And you might give posters some time to respond to your posts. People don’t sit here just waiting to post.

Mary, so what ?

People are better to reply to old threads than begin new one’s on the same subject.

Nancy shared her experience with Fr Diorio.

Why is this a problem for you ?

Interesting, since normally we are told that if we want to resurrect an old thread, we should start a new one.

Some people call it thread necromancy.
Nancy shared her experience with Fr Diorio.
Why is this a problem for you ?
Not a problem. Just funny.

Why funny? Because when you read through this thread, you will find that most people posting only have one or two posts. Why is that? 🤷

As an aside, did you know that this thread is the first result when you search for “Father Ralph Diorio fraud?”

From CAF Rules.
  1. Please check current postings to avoid duplicate threads.
Nancy did that.
As an aside, did you know that this thread is the first result when you search for “Father Ralph Diorio fraud?”
Because it searches for the words Father Ralph Diorio as they are the first in your search and this thread is the most recent on the first three words. And unless you specify in the advance search to search only titles, the word, fraud if it’s anywhere in the body of the thread, will bring up that thread.

Also the word “fraud” is used in the body of this thread, hence this thread comes up and again, is the most recent on Father Ralph Diorio

I will make this short and sweet. My mother took me to see father diorio, when I was 17.I had epalepsy.that was back in 1980.I haven’t had one since.

Yes i attended one of Father Ralph Diorio meetings.

you can bring grandmother to his meeting.

Father Diorio is not a healer, god is the healer he blessed with the gift of getting himself out way and god do the healing. Most people get their ego in the way,

Your grandmother has to want to go to his meeting, she has to pray for the healing

you ask you shall recieve
If this is in the wrong section I apologize. It is a sort of odd topic so I wasn’t sure, but felt it fit better here than in the “back fence” section.

I recently heard about a priest who claims to have the gift of healing. His name is Father Ralph Diorio. He has apparently been practicing a healing ministry for a number of years now and is supposed to have approval for all of this from the Church. However, the only information I can find on him is on his own website and also a thread on CAF from several years ago (which, while interesting, didn’t contain much information).

I was wondering if anyone here has ever met/been healed by Father Diorio or knows anything about him? Is he legitimate, or is he a fraud?

I consider myself someone with strong faith and I do not doubt God’s ability to heal people through his servants, but I also have a natural skepticism that makes me reluctant to believe anyone’s claims to miracles, etc. unless I can see some decent evidence.

I wouldn’t much concern myself with asking about this priest, but my grandmother has COPD and her doctors only give her 5 years to live at the most. Right now she’s considering being put on a list to have a risky double lung transplant in the hopes that perhaps her health may be improved and life extended. I worry about the risk of complications for her though.

I know most people who have had healing abilities in the past can’t heal every person they come into contact with for various reasons, so I’m not looking for a personal guarantee that anyone who sees this priest will walk away feeling like a million bucks. But if this man can even help improve her health a little bit then it would be worth driving my grandma the 6 to 8 hours to see this priest.

I would greatly appreciate any information, positive or negative, you may be able to give me regarding Father Diorio. Thanks.
