it dramatically reduces the ability of a man to impregnate a woman,although does not totally make it out of the question

its prescribed for hair loss and benign bph.

most folks who take are elderly and few have fertile wives.
 
Finasteride does reduce sperm count but nobody would recommend it as a contraceptive. There is no moral issue about using it for prostate enlargement, a legitimate medical problem; or the topical for hair loss.
