Is "Fireproof" good for my marriage?

I’m so glad you are making breakthroughs! While perhaps for very different reasons, my wife and I have had our largest marital difficulties in the bedroom. We have a rock-solid relationship in all other aspects, but have had difficulties getting ourselves together as a couple in the bedroom (from a communication standpoint for the most part… no cheesy jokes please!!)

One book that we read together is Holy Sex! by Gregory Popcak. It’s a book I’d HIGHLY recommend. Yes, it discusses sex in a marriage, but discusses the part of sex that takes place in the bedroom only minimally. This book, as well as another one of his, “For Better, Forever”, are great places to start. One thing that we really liked about them is that they are written from the unapologetically CATHOLIC viewpoint.

There is a good message there. The problem is that the message is hidden behind simply the worst acting I have ever witnessed. It’s just an *awful *movie. I would recommend doing the love dare on your own, but I wouldn’t recommend watching the movie, unless you’re just doing so for comic relief. Seriously, it’s that bad.

Just wanted to post a note that the movie, as mentioned, will not win any awards from anyone, but the message is great. My wife and I love the movie, it is one of our favorites. We have the Love Dare book as well.

I think that it could be good for both of you to watch. Hope all is well for your marriage.

Thanks, yes things are going great and keep getting better! We really seem to be on the same page for the last 5 months. Certain things have yet to be “normalized” but who cares its all going the right direction. This has been the best year of our marriage since our first 2 or 3 years. This thread appears to have been rebooted from the summer which is great. Thanks for the (name removed by moderator)ut on the movie, I never did get around to watching it. I kind got the concepts from reading others reviews of the movie.

I would say that if you are past that “issue” then you both should watch it. Just my opinion though. I am glad to hear that things are going good!! That is awesome!
