If I can make a personal interpretation, the entirety of God as described from *both *Old and then New Testaments is a great puzzle.

Genesis 1:26 hints at God’s true self. "Then God said: “Let **us **make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the cattle, and over all the wild animals and all the creatures that crawl on the ground.” The plurality here suggests an allusion to what Christ would continually to regarding Himself and the First Person, the Father, as well as the actions of the spirit that enters “like a dove,” the Holy Spirit, the Third Person.

Yet, despite the New Testament revelation that God is three persons in one being, we still don’t know everything about Christ and the Father.

Catholics, as you know, use the term “mystery” not so much in that it is a problem that requires a solution, but as a complexity that is granted to us that, despite our ability to understand it, is a blessing we should appreciate as much as possible.

Yes, the JW’s have it wrong here (among many other interpretations). There are no secrets in God’s revelation to us. All that understanding requires is humility and a contrite heart.

I’m sure others can point out more specific verses, but be aware that a JW, with their remarkably distorted and mistranslated version of Scripture, will disagree.

christianity is a work in progress when certain partys try to down play the mystery of the divine by saying that they have all of the information pertaining to god it makes for more work and pennance and most protestants today and cults are simply selling illicit fire insurance policies. being created one can never understand the creator

Whenever I am re-reading through the Bible I always start with the Gospel, it lifts me up to read about Jesus’ life here on Earth.

Apparently the mind of God is unknowable by humans. So, how can people write mountains of paperwork detailing what God thinks, feels, desires, etc. ? … so … much… straw…
