i think sometimes, even “death” at the hands of God is mercy. The bible nowhere states that because the Egyptian babies died that way, their souls would go to hell.
But if on judgment day, the Lord shows mercy to these souls for “they knew not what they did”, would He accord the same to the Israelites souls when they too die, or to us, the “new Israel”, who have known His Son ?
What may appear to us now as unjust may be mercy or an “early purgatory” and then again, those who appear now to be on the “better side of life”, may have more to account for and more “purging time” to serve for a misuse of the chances they have, the chances those Egyptian babies, aborted babes, miscarriage babes did not have.
His ways our not ours. An early death may sometimes be mercy, after all, we all are pilgrims here and the real living comes after.
