Is God "fair"?

They say that life isn’t but is he?.I just thought that one off the top of my head and never have thought of it before.I’ll the word fair open to interpretration beyond how justice ussually mean distributive justice.Wish I could say more on this but it’s late in my place,I’ve still got homework and I think it’ll be nice to see what comes up if I leave it to be more ambiguous and talk less.
 
What are you talking about? When you say distributive justice I think John Rawls and Robert Nozick…
 
Fairness is a human construct. It doesn’t actually exist outside of our minds.

What God is, though, is just. People will get what they chose in life.
 
I agree that He is just, and also merciful. If he were fair, we’d all get what we deserved, and it wouldn’t be pretty.
 
Since God sent his only Son to pay the penalty for our sins, I would say he’s infinitely generous! In that sense, not ‘fair’ at all, not giving us what we deserve!
 
Jesus is the Divine Mercy, he died to take our sins away, not very fair.

People will get what they chose in life?

Be so kind to think about what you just said.

Do you mean that people will eventually, after they are dead get what they chose in life?
Or do you mean the baby born with a spinal deformity chose to have it?

That was directed at the afterlife, so to the fact that after death we will be judged according to the lives we lived.

A person born with a spinal deformity is a tragedy, but it’s not God’s doing, it is simply a fact of life. In fact, it goes to illustrate my point that fairness does not exist, because if fairness were a universal law then either no one would be born with issues, or everyone would.

I fervantly HOPE God is not “JUST”. If he is then I have no chance of Heaven, as there’s no way I can get there by my own efforts. I HAVE to rely on His mercy…

God’s justice is always tempered by His infinite mercy.

God is infinitely just; that is why He had to die for our sins.
