Father Horvak: What’s confusing you this week?
Frankie Dunn: Oh, it’s the same old “one God-three God” thing.
Father Horvak: Frankie, most people figure out by kindergarten it’s about faith.
Frankie Dunn: Is it sort of like Snap Crackle and Pop, all rolled into one big box?
Father Horvak: You’re standing outside my church, comparing God to Rice Krispies?

this otta explain things!

Since God is three Persons, shouldn’t we use ‘they’ instead of ‘he’? Or is it simply a reference to the Father whenever we speak of God in the singular?
Sometimes when God is spoken of philosophically, since the Trinity is something revealed not philosophically known, God is spoken of as “he” for that reason. Other times it is a reference to God the Father. When more than one divine person is expressed as the grammatical antecedent, the pronoun “they” is use (of course):

When the word “God” is used to refer to all three divine persons, my impression is that the pronoun “he” is used just as a matter of grammar since God is a singular word. I don’t think it’s like something of mystical importance. But I could be wrong 🙂
