Why would the creator of the countless stars and galaxies make dogmas about abortion, homosexuals, masturbation. That kind of god is too small and very much human
It’s “small” to think that the God of the universe cannot nor would not care about every aspect and every person of His creation. Especially given the fact that that God created the countless stars and galaxies and the entire universe for those persons to live and grow in and enjoy. Why would the creator of the countless stars and galaxies make dogmas about abortion, homosexuals, masturbation. I understand the enormity of your Question.... Your looking at the big picture of gods creation.... Your not just looking at Galaxies in general.... Your aware that when looking at Galaxies... You don't just see a few hundred of them... But rather you see millions of galaxies,,and when you see the enormous cluster structures ,,, and all these clusters combined appear to be like such an enormous web stretching billions of light years...
You’re right in that we must be careful not to anthropomorphize G-d.Why would the creator of the countless stars and galaxies make dogmas about abortion, homosexuals, masturbation. That kind of god is too small and very much human
I am constantly amazed how often people want to blame God for things He is not responsible for and their effort to place Him in a Human Box. I guess they do that so they can look greater than God. They are not.Why would the creator of the countless stars and galaxies make dogmas about abortion, homosexuals, masturbation. That kind of god is too small and very much human
You’re making a basic metaphysical misstep, confusing quantity with quality. Just because something is more numerous or larger doesn’t mean it is more valuable. Would you rather have all the sand in the Sahara Desert or a single priceless diamond? Just because the universe is big doesn’t mean some (comparatively) small part isn’t of the most value to God.Why would the creator of the countless stars and galaxies make dogmas about abortion, homosexuals, masturbation. In my belief he doesn’t. That is all our doing, as is everything else in human history. Why would the creator of the countless stars and galaxies make dogmas about abortion, homosexuals, masturbation. That kind of god is too small and very much human
Of course, your scenario is reliant on the universe being constructed for us and that we are the most loved in the vastness of that universe. You know what’s really amazing? He created the whole universe for us! Of all that He created, we are the ones He loves the Most; His highest creature is Mary, the Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth.
Imagine multi-billionaire causing a huge theme park to be build for his children. The theme park would be bigger than the children, but the ones the multi-billionaire would still love would be his children, no? And would he not be concerned with all the ins and outs of their days, and would he not do his best to teach them how to behave in the way he thought best for their future? Would we not, if he neglected that aspect of fatherhood, wonder if he loved his children properly?
Even a car manufacturer informs the buyers of how best to treat the car. God tells us how to treat ourselves for our best performance too.
Which is a lot more feasible that a “god” of utter indifference which would create nothing at all.Of course, your scenario is reliant on the universe being constructed for us and that we are the most loved in the vastness of that universe.
Perhaps it is relatively more feasible but still there is an immense vastness to the universe that remains unloved compared to us. Why is there so much “extra stuff” that G-d created if He loves above all only our human species on this tiny planet? And why did everything happen only on Earth, particularly the giving of the Law and the teaching of Jesus? Are we so arrogant to think we are really the center, the only center, of all else in the universe?Which is a lot more feasible that a “god” of utter indifference which would create nothing at all.
How do you know that it remains “unloved”?Perhaps it is relatively more feasible but still there is an immense vastness to the universe that remains unloved compared to us.
Perhaps to give the “priests” that he placed in charge of His creation the sense of their proper relation to Him?Why is there so much “extra stuff” that G-d created if He loves above all only our human species on this tiny planet?
I think rather that its quite arrogant to think that we know better than God and in that vein not accept and respect creation as He has made it.And why did everything happen only on Earth, particularly the giving of the Law and the teaching of Jesus? Are we so arrogant to think we are really the center, the only center, of all else in the universe?
Only one of two conclusions:Why would the creator of the countless stars and galaxies make dogmas about abortion, homosexuals, masturbation. That kind of god is too small and very much human
False dichotomy.Only one of two conclusions:
Either God is not omnipotent - he is incapable of incapable of creating a perfect universe.
Or God is not omnipotent.
Good catch!False dichotomy.
Sheer nonsense!Only one of two conclusions:
Either God is not omnipotent - he is incapable of incapable of creating a perfect universe.
Or God is not omnipotent.
Physical attributes such as size, quantity and duration have nothing whatsoever to do with spiritual value, purpose or significance…Perhaps it is relatively more feasible but still there is an immense vastness to the universe that remains unloved compared to us.
