All professions have their outstanding, better, average, below average, and totally terrible performers that should be drumed out of the profession.
I am the kind of guy that wants to stay on duty every day. When my back has gone out, the medical doctors say take some pills and lay down until it goes away - maybe in three weeks. I asked if not well in three weeks, what then. Lay down longer.
I wanted a more active treatment. My family carried me into the chiro because I could not walk. He examined me, manipulated my back, and I felt an instant significant reduction in pain. A week later, not three, later I was back to work.
In an other episode several years later, another chiro had me lay on my front on a table that had the bottom half go down and up, gently stretching my back back into place. I learned there are different technioques and this one was the best for me - no worry of something snapping.
Our backs are in segments of bone. Sometimes a segment can slip out of place and rub on a nerve (pain) and then our muscles tend lock tight trying to deal with the pain. We can wait until the muscles relax and hope the bone segment slips back into place. A chiro knows how to move the bone segment back into place, and off the nerve, and we get well faster because of that.
But, to know when a Chiro is right for someone, one should seek out his or her medical doctor first. Everyone is different.
Of the several Chiros I have seen in my life, only one pushed for a regular maintenance schedule. I stopped going to him many years ago. Other than that, the others were professional and appropriate. And each time I got back to work much faster than what the medical doctors expected.
I know of NO Church teaching against Chiropactic Care.
